ME/CFS Symposium 2025 – Forschung in Deutschland
Public symposium on ME/CFS research and health care studies in Germany. This half-day hybrid event was aimed at people living with ME/CFS (myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome) and the general public and presented currently ongoing research projects.
Presentations at the symposium were broadcast via online livestream from the Harnack House of the Max Planck Society in Berlin. All presentations were held in German.
The event took place under the stewardship of Prof Carmen Scheibenbogen, director of the Division of Immunodeficiencies and Post-infectious Diseases and the Charité Fatigue Center (CFC) at Charité - University Medicine Berlin and Prof Uta Behrends, head of the MRI Chronic Fatigue Center (MCFC) for young people at the Technical University of Munich Hospital and the Munich Schwabing Clinic.
The symposium presented ongoing ME/CFS research projects to the general public. The focus of the event lied on the presentation of research projects funded by the Federal Ministry of Health (BMG) and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) that deal with the areas of health care, treatment, basic and clinical research. Some of the research projects also cover Long COVID and post-COVID syndrome.
