Dr Anna Brock presented the project "Improving the Care Situation of Long/Post-COVID Patients (LCovB)." In addition to evaluating existing data sets and conducting patient interviews, a specialised team will visit 15 critically ill patients suffering from ME/CFS after COVID-19 at home. Their condition will be assessed and recorded through reviewing available findings, using questionnaires, examinations, and by drawing blood samples for comprehensive laboratory diagnostics during a home visit, as well as via discussions with primary care physicians and caregivers. If necessary, inpatient neurological assessment will be organised under appropriate conditions. An individualised treatment plan will be developed, which will be implemented step by step by primary care physicians in close coordination. Short online surveys will be conducted monthly over a period of six months. Based on the results of the entire project, the research team, together with experts, will derive recommendations for healthcare practice.
