Prof (MD), MPH Kathryn Hoffmann

Prof Kathryn Hoffmann is the head of the Department of Primary Care Medicine at the Center for Public Health at the Medical University of Vienna in Austria. Prof. Hoffmann is a physician, public health scientist and a leading expert in health services research in the primary care sector in Austria. She completed her habilitation in general and family medicine and heads the Department of Primary Care Medicine since February 2023. Prof. Hoffmann and her interdisciplinary team work on the research areas of health services in the primary care sector, eHealth and infectious diseases and their long-term consequences. As a general practitioner, she specialises in the care of people with post-acute infectious syndromes (PAIS), including ME/CFS. Prof. Hoffmann is also the co-director of the recently founded National Reference Center for Post-Viral Syndromes at the Medical University of Vienna.
