Dr Kirsten Wittke is a specialist in internal medicine and a hemato-oncologist at the Institute of Medical Immunology at the Charité - University Medicine Berlin in Germany. As part of her work at the Charité Fatigue Center (CFC), Dr Wittke is a member of several research projects including on the health care of ME/CFS patients and has co-authored a range of publications on different aspects of ME/CFS and post-COVID syndrome. Among others, she is a member of the "Post Acute Infection Syndromes Interdisciplinary Care Berlin (PAIS Care Berlin)" project. Under this project, interdisciplinary care structures are being tested and evaluated for people who remain persistently ill after an infection. The overall aim is to create scientifically sound, needs-based health care services by improving existing structures, especially outpatient care and - where necessary - creating new services. The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Health (BMG) with around 10 million euros.
