Transfer of IgG from PCS patients induces symptomology in mice

Prof Jeroen den Dunnen has a background in molecular immunology and is an associate professor and principal investigator at the Center for Infection and Molecular Medicine (CIMM) at Amsterdam University Medical Center (UMC) in the Netherlands. His research group studies the role of antibodies during infections and post-acute infection syndromes (PAIS), with the aim to identify new targets for the treatment of these diseases. Prof Dunnen is the principal investigator of the "Autoimmunity as a cause of ME/CFS symptoms (AutonoME)" research project, wich is a sub-project of the the "Netherlands ME/CFS Cohort and Biobank (NMCB)" research network. The overall focus of Prof Dunnen' research group lies on the study of how antibodies and antibody receptors (Fc receptors) orchestrate inflammatory responses in a large variety of disorders, including bacterial and viral infections, autoimmune diseases, but also chronic inflammatory disorders such inflammatory bowel disease and chronic rhino sinusitis.
